The Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese Interpreter position is an employee position with employment Benefits Program . The interpreter is responsible for handling calls on demand, and renders the meaning of conversations between the Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese and English speakers. The interpreter helps break the communication barrier between Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese speakers and non-Cantonese, non-Mandarin, non- Vietnamese speakers, who are professionals in any of the wide range of industries need language services. The interpreter processes information quickly, concisely and recognizes sensitive cultural differences and she/he is professional and courteous at all times. The interpreter uses appropriate terminology and understands common industry procedures and practices.
The employee Interpreter works from his/her home-office. It is essential to ensure a quiet & secure environment. Note pads and writing utensils, glossaries or dictionaries are useful tools. The interpreter must have a dedicated telephone line and head-set/telephone equipment.
The hiring process will include written and audio language assessments
Must be able to see computer screen
Must be able to constantly operate computer keyboard and mouse
Must be able to remain in a stationary position during majority of scheduled shift
